Competence Partner 2022
The SVI stands for holistic packaging thinking.
We are the packaging-neutral association of the Swiss packaging industry. We represent and promote the interests of all companies involved in the life cycle of packaging – from manufacturing to filling processes to recycling. In this way, we support the further development of the entire packaging industry from a functional, ecological and economic point of view and demonstrate the industry’s innovative capacity.
The SVI puts its members at the center.
We offer comprehensive information and advice in all industry-specific matters – competent and up-to-date. In addition, we create networking platforms and promote the meeting and cooperation of our members. This makes us a strong partner and service provider for the packaging industry.
The SVI trains packaging specialists.
We are the leading partner for in-service training and continuing education in the packaging industry. Our training program is level-appropriate, practice-oriented and comprehensive. Our graduates occupy important key positions and are thus a success factor for the competitiveness of the Swiss packaging industry.
“Companies in the packaging industry are increasingly facing international competition from products and services. From my point of view, this fair offers the Swiss packaging industry the ideal setting to showcase its innovations, cultivate existing contacts and establish new partnerships at national level. For a comparatively cost-intensive country like Switzerland, success depends to a large extent on the innovative strength and quality of its products as well as on the know-how of its employees. As the umbrella organisation of the Swiss packaging industry, we will be specifically seeking an exchange with the industry members at the trade fair in order to recruit new members and present our broad further training programme. With a two-day lecture programme, we also want to be a platform for mutual exchange and important technical input.”
“Despite globalized procurement and sales markets, we stand by our domestic market and can present the great innovative strength of the Swiss packaging industry to decision-makers at a Swiss trade show year after year. Of course, at international trade fairs the concentration of potential customers is higher, but so is the number of competitors. The question arises, do I reach the decision-makers for the important sales markets for our industry in Switzerland at international trade fairs? Do I reach the specialists who are important for my future? We produce the majority of our products in Switzerland and also recruit our specialist personnel from Switzerland. For SVI, the partnership with the EMPACK exhibition organization is a strategic partnership. We are committed to Switzerland as a trade fair location and thus also to our own packaging trade fair.”
